Natomas Artist Jim Vetter will exhibit selected paintings, assemblage & combines at Gallery 625 in Woodland through February. Vetter’s “shanty” approach makes allusion to squatter settlements, jazz & work songs, the Dust Bowl era writings of John Steinbeck, and the Dada anti-art movement.   Check out this big exhibition of approximately 20 or more pieces from the last four years painted/created in his Natomas studio!

Harvest for Hunger 2012

Natomas Artist Kerri Warner created a series of portraits, entitled Faces of Hunger, to create awareness and raise funds for the River City Food Bank.  The Faces will be available for purchase at the Harvest for Hunger event on September 28th at the elegant Jon Stevenson Mansion – 1724 N Street in Midtown.

Besides a beautiful garden setting, guests will enjoy viewing and bidding on art from Verge Center for the Arts and on special portraits designed for River City Food Bank by artist Kerri Warner.  The Joe Mazzaferro Group will play soft jazz while guests feast on tasty small plates, delicious wine, beer and beverages.  Gourmet cupcates too!

Natomas Artist Katie Knipp New EP & Tour Dates

Natomas Artist, singer songwriter Katie Knipp has recently released her 4th studio recording, an EP  entitled “Nice to Meet You”.   This release features Katie Knipp on piano, acoustic guitar and vocals,  Gerry Pineda on both upright and electric bass, Peter Philis on drums, Chet Chwalik on trumpet, Jeremy Springer on Hammond B3, Samantha Olson on violin, and Blue Lamp owner Brant Stoner on electric guitar.

Katie’s music is available for purchase online at cdbaby in either mp3 format or a CD. There is a direct link on Katie’s website  to her recordings on cdbaby.
