7th Annual N magazine Cover Artist Show

Cover Artist Show – Friends of the Library Fund-Raiser
Sunday May 20, 5:00-8:30 p.m.
North Natomas Library (4660 Via Ingoglia)

Attendees will see some of the best art of Sacramento as they talk with the artists that created the cover for this award-winning magazine.  Art can be purchased and contributions made to the great work of the Friends of the Library. Included in the evening will be music by Glenn TietjenNatomas School of Music and a sampling of appetizers.

Sponsored by N magazine and the North Natomas Library, this event is free to attend.

N magazine Cover Artist Show is Sunday

A fund-raiser for the North and South Natomas Friends of the Library, will be hosted by N magazine publisher, Dennis Spear and Suzy Murray, branch supervisor of the North Natomas Library. This event will feature the cover artists from the past issues of N magazine.

Attendees will see some of the best art of Sacramento as they talk with the artists that created the cover for this award-winning magazine. Art can be purchased and contributions made to the great work of the Friends of the Library. Artist Lecture – John Pugh

Description: John Pugh, recognized internationally for his trompe l’oeil style murals, will speak at the North Natomas Library, Community Room, 4660 Via Ingoglia in Sacramento. Pugh will speak about his project for the Elkhorn Water Tower as well as his past work.

Pugh has completed over 250 public murals. He has two projects nearby including the Sacramento County Youth Detention center on Keifer Blvd., and the Sacramento County Parking Garage at 7th & F Streets. John recently completed a mural at the historic Del Oro Theater in Grass Valley, California, and at the Westside Recreation Center in Calgary, Canada. Book Sales Continue

If you missed the  South Natomas Affiliate of the Friends of the Sacramento Library semi-annual book sale on Saturday, March 12, 2011 don’t fret.  The Book Sale will continue in the South Natomas Library Community Room until March 22 during regular library hours.  This community event features a large assortment of books in all subject areas and all proceeds will be used to support library programs.   Contact the South Natomas Friends of the Library at southnatomasfol@yahoo.com for more information.

As a reminder the Friends of the North Natomas Library has a store located in the North Natomas Library and volunteers staff it for book sales during regular library hours.    The Friends’ Store at the North Natomas Library sells gently-used paperback and hardcover books, DVDs, CDs and magazines. All proceeds support programs and materials for children, teens, and adults at the branch.  Check the website or Facebook page for weekly specials.  You can also get on the mailing list by signing up inside the Friends’ Store.

Check out these book sales and support your local Natomas Libraries!  You never know what kind of literary treasure you may find!
